FAQs
I’m here for you. Feel free to send me a message if these FAQs do not answer your questions.
Do you have a permanent location?
No, McCartney Massage is a mobile massage company and our therapist travels to each individual client's home. She brings everything needed for the massage all you need to do is have a cleared-out area big enough to where she can fit her massage table and enough room for her to walk around it.
What should I expect from my first session?
Your first session will be similar to a consultation where the massage is spent getting to know you and your body's needs. Our therapist will take the time to ask you about your problem areas as well as find out your health history. Throughout the massage she will try to figure out what is happening in your problem areas and if massage is a good solution.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
One of the best ways to prepare before a massage is drinking lots of water the day leading up to the massage and for the day proceeding the massage. The more water you drink the less sore you should feel especially if this is your first massage ever or if you have not had a massage in a while. Water helps flush the toxins out of your body and will help your muscles recover quicker after a massage.
What is the difference between a relaxation massage and a custom therapeutic massage?
The biggest difference between the two types of massages is the goal you have in mind for the massage. If the goal is true relaxation, then working out the problem areas takes away from the relaxation. In a custom therapeutic massage our therapist uses a mixture of techniques to break down problem areas such as knots or trigger points which will be the focal point in the massage.
What do I wear during the massage?
The therapist leaves it up to the client and their comfort level. The usual suggestion is everything off, underwear is optional. Your body will be uncovered one area at a time so you will not be exposed while on the massage table. If you do decide to leave your underwear on, our therapist asks that you wear something that allows access to your quads/ upper legs.
